Overview

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ ISD works in partnership with the State of Texas Health and Human Services Commission to provide educational services for children receiving acute care at the SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ State Hospital (ASH) in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services (CAPS) Unit. ASH/CAPS is a residential treatment facility serving children from all over the state of Texas. The ASH/CAPS Day SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ operates as a trauma-informed restorative campus in order to meet the specialized needs of each child. AISD staff provides a variety of general and special education services to all patients during their stay at ASH/CAPS and all progress/credits are transferable to their home campus upon discharge.
