Transformative Teachers must
- have more than three years of experience as a certified core classroom teacher (Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Special Education)
- be highly effective with excellent appraisals & high student growth rates,
- and have high expectations and a passion for supporting middle school students.
Teachers are identified as effective based on a statistical analysis of student assessment growth data along with administrator observations, and subsequently invited to apply to teach at a restart campus.
Current SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ ISD Teachers demonstrating student growth in the top 20% district-wide are eligible to apply for Transformative Teacher positions. (SAS EVAAS)
Teachers from outside the district who have at least three years of experience, hold a TIA Distinction, and have a proven track record of success working in high-needs schools will be invited to apply as a Transformative Teacher.

Transformative Teachers leverage
- rigorous, evidence-based instructional practices to accelerate student achievement, particularly in underperforming schools.
- They demonstrate a deep understanding of curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy, and use data to inform instruction, close learning gaps, and promote academic excellence for all students.
- They are committed to continuous professional growth, fostering a culture of high academic expectations, and contributing to systemic change by modeling reflective practice, instructional leadership, and collaborative problem-solving within the school community.
- They are data-driven, reflective, and resilient—capable of building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and helping shift school culture toward high expectations and collective efficacy.
- $15,000 annual stipend for core classroom teachers with an additional $5,000 if the teacher holds a TIA designation.
- $7,000 annual stipend for bilingual-certified and special education-certified teachers serving in bilingual or special education classrooms.

Yes, campus professional and administrative positions are eligible for the following annual stipends:
- Principal - $25,000
- Assistant Principal - $15,000
- Counselors - $8,000
- Content Interventionists & Instructional Coaches - $10,000
- Non-CORE classroom teachers & Librarians- $8,000
- The stipend is contingent upon meeting additional requirements as part of the campus turnaround plan. A Transformative Teacher will continue to receive the stipend as long as the school demonstrates progress and meets the requirements of the campus turnaround plan. Should a Restart Campus transition into utilizing a Charter SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ partnership, the stipend will continue to be paid for the duration of the 2025-26 school year or until the transition to the charter partner is complete.
- Should a Charter SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ partnership occur, all efforts will be made to ensure teachers are placed in qualifying teaching positions within SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ ISD.
