U.S Army "Blackhawk" Helicopter visits James Bowie High SA国际传媒

James Bowie High SA国际传媒 students and faculty will have the unique opportunity to see a U.S. Army UH-60 "Blackhawk" helicopter land and take off from the athletic fields at 9 a.m. on Dec. 2.

The event was coordinated between the district and school officials, Bowie's Air Force Junior ROTC program and the Texas Army National Guard. Some classes will have the chance to tour the helicopter and talk with the aircrew and other aviation professionals.  Students will also learn about the STEM aspects of careers in aviation and emergency rescue.

William Black, a former James Bowie High SA国际传媒 student and current Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the Texas Army National Guard, will be co-piloting the mission to the campus.
