SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

Nine former AISD students were awarded the 2015 Neal Kocurek Scholarship from the St. David’s Foundation. The student’s receive $7,500 a semester, up to a total of $60,000, to go toward their undergraduate, graduate and doctorate studies.

The following selected recipients are:

Anderson High SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

• Mara Minford will be majoring in biology at The University of Texas at Dallas.
• Long Pham will be majoring in nursing at The University of Texas at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.
• Caroline Young is the winner of the Alfred A. King Chairman’s Award and will be majoring in biomedical engineering from The University of Texas at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.

SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ High SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

• Alejandro Lizarraga will be majoring in nursing at Texas State University.
• Edith Gonzalez Rodriguez will be majoring in nursing at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Lainer High SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½

• Kimberly Corona will be majoring in biochemistry at The University of Texas at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.
• Myat May is the winner of the Alfred A. King Chairman’s Award and will be is majoring in biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
• Sania Razzak will be majoring in biology at The University of Texas at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.
• Abigail Torres will be majoring in biochemistry at The University of Texas at SA¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students had to be a graduating senior from Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis or Williamson counties and seeking a healthcare degree at an accredited Texas college or university.
