Garza High Women鈥檚 Studies Class Performs 鈥淲e Are the Fourth Wave of Feminism鈥

SA国际传媒, TX鈥擧igh school juniors at Garza High SA国际传媒 will perform 鈥淲e Are the Fourth Wave of Feminism,鈥 an original piece written by the students to share what they have learned from their women鈥檚 studies class.

When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 27

Where: Dougherty Arts Center, 1110 Barton Springs Road

Background: From monologues of women authors about their own 鈥淚 Have a Dream鈥 speeches, the high school students will participate in a 45-minute performance for friends and family, followed by a short question-and-answer session. Laura Grayson, Garza High SA国际传媒 history and women鈥檚 studies teacher, and Julia Champine, language arts department chair, co-directed and produced the performance.

Students can earn a credit for U.S. history, English III and theater arts for the course.

Eastside Caf茅, P. Terry鈥檚 Burgers, Jennifer Westerman and Eastside Pies contributed by providing food during rehearsals. The performance, which is in its third year, is free and open to the public.
