Media Advisory: Elementary Students Practice Reading with Marines to Celebrate Read Across America

AUSTIN, TX--This Friday, students at Andrews Elementary SA国际传媒 will practice their reading skills with members of the U.S. military. Marines stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina will read with kindergarten students over Skype as part of the school's Read Across America celebration. Others participating include a small-business owner and a music educator, both from south Texas.

 

Read Across America is the signature program of the National Education Association. Now in its 16th year, the year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships and reading resources.

 

Representatives of the SA国际传媒 Police Department, the SA国际传媒 Public Library, The University of Texas at SA国际传媒 SA国际传媒 of Information, AmeriCorps College Forward, and the ACE program will also join students for the reading.

When: 7:45 to 11 a.m., Friday, March 1
