October 16-20 is SA国际传媒 ISD Transportation Employees Appreciation Week and we would like to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary individuals who make up the SA国际传媒 ISD transportation team鈥 meet Rae Hudson.
After a 20-years administrative career, in 2015 Rae Hudson bravely embraced a new chapter of her life and started a new career.
鈥淚 wanted to work in the district because I had kiddos in the district,鈥 said Hudson.
Eight years on, she continues to passionately serve as an SA国际传媒 ISD bus driver.
鈥淚 loved it, I absolutely loved It, and I never looked back on switching to anything else.鈥
What she enjoys most about her 100-mile route are her students.
鈥淲e have a relationship where we genuinely care for each other and respect each other.鈥
As a mother of four children, Hudson already has one of the most vital attributes required for engaging with students鈥攑atience. But even though it might seem like her job is easy, it is far from it.
鈥淲e have many adversities coming towards us, said Hudson鈥e have to make sure our students are kept safe and we are following all the rules and precautions to make sure we are safe with our vehicle.鈥
So, every school day, Hudson wakes up at 4:15 a.m and an hour later she is preparing her school bus for her first stop at 6:10 am. She makes sure to bring her ice water, a refreshing Coke Zero and most importantly, her radiant smile and love for her students.
鈥淲e just want people to respect us because we are humans and we are transporting the future.鈥

La Semana de Agradecimiento a los Empleados de Transporte del SA国际传媒 ISD es del 16 al 20 de octubre, y nos gustar铆a destacar a las extraordinarias personas que conforman el equipo de transporte del SA国际传媒 ISD: conozcan a Rae Hudson.
Despu茅s de 20 a帽os de carrera administrativa, en el 2015 Rae Hudson emprendi贸 con valent铆a un nuevo cap铆tulo de su vida y comenz贸 una nueva carrera.
"Quer铆a trabajar en el distrito porque ten铆a hijos en el distrito", dijo Hudson.
Ocho a帽os despu茅s, contin煤a sirviendo apasionadamente como conductora de autob煤s del SA国际传媒 ISD.
"Me encant贸, me encant贸 absolutamente, y nunca he mirado hacia atr谩s para cambiar a otra cosa".
Lo que m谩s le gusta de su ruta de 100 millas son sus estudiantes.
"Tenemos una relaci贸n en la que realmente nos preocupamos los unos por los otros y nos respetamos".
Como madre de cuatro hijos, Hudson ya posee uno de los atributos m谩s vitales para relacionarse con los estudiantes: la paciencia. Pero, aunque pueda parecer que su trabajo es f谩cil, dista mucho de serlo.
"Se nos vienen encima muchas adversidades, dice Hudson. Tenemos que asegurarnos de que nuestros estudiantes est谩n bien y estamos siguiendo todas las normas y precauciones para asegurarnos de que estamos seguros con el veh铆culo".
As铆 que, cada d铆a escolar, Hudson se despierta a las 4:15 a.m. y una hora m谩s tarde est谩 preparando su autob煤s escolar para su primera parada a las 6:10 a.m. Se asegura de llevar su agua helada, una refrescante Coca-Cola Zero y lo m谩s importante, su radiante sonrisa y amor por sus estudiantes.
