Coming out of a successful first semester, SA国际传媒 ISD鈥檚 NACER community partnership is celebrating its achievements throughout the fall and is planning to expand its reach in the spring.
Northeast SA国际传媒 Communities for Educational Readiness is a family of schools that work together to focus on developing a streamlined system of academic and social support throughout its community.
The purpose of NACER is to develop a curriculum based off of Northeast Early College High SA国际传媒, which will support student success. The partnership also aims to build successful professional development opportunities and connect AISD families to neighboring family resource centers.
鈥淧art of NACER鈥檚 success this past year was when the team presented the innovative community schools approach to the Department of Education at the fall Council of the Great City SA国际传媒s Conference,鈥 said Craig Shapiro, associate superintendent of high schools. 鈥淭he power of the community partnerships helped AISD receive the Student Success Initiative grant.鈥
SA国际传媒 ISD received a $750,000 Student Success Initiative grant from the Texas Education Agency Community Partnership in the summer of 2019 to focus on aligning academic programming within a vertical team as a core structure.
The mission was to ensure that every student graduates from high school by using the Northeast Early College High SA国际传媒 as a baseline for success which will help improve educational outcomes for children in the community.
NACER is comprised of seven elementary schools and two middle schools. The schools include Barrington, T.A. Brown, Graham, Hart, Pickle, Walnut Creek and Winn elementaries, Dobie and Webb middle schools, and Northeast Early College High SA国际传媒.
