The planning committee for a potential new south SA国际传媒 magnet program is looking for input and guidance during community information sessions in April.
The public will have multiple opportunities to share perspectives with the committee, tasked with establishing magnet program visions and curriculum/instruction needs for a potential new south magnet program.
The meetings are come-and-go meetings, allowing community members to arrive at any time during the meeting and stay as long as they would like. The meeting format will ensure all attendees receive the same information regardless of arrival time.
- The first session is 8 to 11 a.m. April 16 at the Covington Middle SA国际传媒 cafeteria.
- The second community session is slated for 4 to 7 p.m. April 28 at the Mendez Middle SA国际传媒 cafeteria.
Community members will have the opportunity to review the program proposals and will asked to complete surveys to further inform the committee鈥檚 work.
Currently, no magnet programs exist in South SA国际传媒 high schools, including Akins, SA国际传媒, Bowie, Crockett, and Travis.
District data demonstrates that a slight majority of the Liberal Arts and Science Academy (LASA) student applicants and enrollees are of the south AISD community.
LASA, at its current location at LBJ High SA国际传媒, has reached capacity.
Covington Middle SA国际传媒 is located at 3700 Convict Hill Rd. Mendez Middle SA国际传媒 is located at 5106 Village Square Dr.
