Over 360 parents and students attended the Crockett and Akins Vertical Team of schools' Famliy Transition Fair, Jan. 24 at Galindo Elementary SA国际传媒.
The event was developed and coordinated by AISD Parent Support Specialists and provided opportunities for 5th grade parents and students to meet and talk with staff from their future middle schools.
A few weeks before the fair, parents from each school were surveyed about their concerns and topics they would like covered. From this data, the Parent Support Specialists developed the program for the evening, which included information or presentations on Choice Sheets, Magnet SA国际传媒s, Middle SA国际传媒 Programming and SA国际传媒 Safety and Gang Awareness. Principals, counselors and other staff from middle schools also presented information about their schools and answered questions from parents and students.
